The story of Cain and Abel helps us to discuss and, understand our emotions which are close to our mind and heart like Jealousy, Anger, Fear, and Morality.
Cain and Abel were Sons of Adam and Eve They were born after Adam and Eve were sent away from the Garden of Eden.
Eve's first son was Cain, and the second born was Abel. Cain worked in land, where he planted vegetation and, Abel was a shepherd, taking care of sheep. As time went by Cain and Abel grew, they decided to make an offering onto god, to give thanks, as God showed them the importance of a sacrifice
The Offering 🫴
Kneeling before an altar, Cain and Abel offer the fruits of their labor in sacrifice to God:
A sheaf of wheat from Cain and from his first borns, a lamb and its milk was offered from Abel. Abel had faith whilst Cain didn't.
While Abel brought “the best portions,” Cain simply brought some of his ordinary crops. God preferred Abels offering instead of Cains. Abel's sacrifice was accepted because he knew what God wanted and obeyed. Cain's was rejected because he knew what God wanted, yet disobeyed. To obey is righteous; to disobey is evil. Abel was of God; Cain was of Satan (1 John 3:12).
Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”
The Murder
Cain was angry and jealous of his brother Abel, that god had accepted his offering and rejected his. Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.
Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel? “I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?” The Lord said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.
The Curse
Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”
